A Fair and Robust Voting System by Broadcast
نویسندگان
چکیده
Hao, Ryan, and Zieliński (2010) propose a two-round decentralized voting protocol that is efficient in terms of rounds, computation, and bandwidth. However, the protocol has two drawbacks. First, if some voters abort then the election result cannot be announced, that is, the protocol is not robust. Secondly, the last voter can learn the election result before voting, that is, the protocol is not fair. Both drawbacks are typical of other decentralized e-voting protocols. This paper proposes a recovery round to enable the election result to be announced if voters abort, and we add a commitment round to ensure fairness. In addition, we provide a computational security proof of ballot secrecy.,

Design and formal verification of DZMBE+
In this paper, a new broadcast encryption scheme is presented based on threshold secret sharing and secure multiparty computation. This scheme is maintained to be dynamic in that a broadcaster can broadcast a message to any of the dynamic groups of users in the system and it is also fair in the sense that no cheater is able to gain an unfair advantage over other users. Another important feature...
متن کاملAn improved approach for ranking the candidates in a voting system based on efficiency intervals
This paper proposes improvements and revisions to a recent approach in a voting system, and provides an effective approach with a stronger discriminate power. For this purpose, the advantage of a linear transformation is utilized to redene a previously used concept of virtual worst candidate, by incorporating the existing weight restrictions. Then, the best score of this virtual candidate is us...

متن کاملAvoiding Paradoxes in Positional Voting Systems
It is well-known that no voting system can be entirely fair: this is Arrow’s Theorem, which states that under a certain natural definition of fairness, the only fair voting system is a dictatorship. Thus, in democratic political systems, one expects voting paradoxes in which different voting systems give different results. We analyze the mathematical basis of paradoxes amongst a certain class o...
